V is getting so good at rolling over. He loves to flip from his back to his stomach and does it so quickly that if you blink you may miss it! He is even pushing with his knees and toes although he keeps his head down while he does this so either he needs to learn to keep his head up or he is going to start getting carpet burns on his forehead, haha! So far he hasn't made it off the playmat so his forehead is unmarred.
V went to the Children's Hospital for his upper GI this week. And I have to say it was the cutest themed hospital I have seen. It was all ocean themed, there was etched glass panels with urchins, octopus and kelp on them seperating the waiting rooms. There were aquariums placed about. And on flat screen TV's on the wall they had slide shows of sea creatures telling you what they are, where they are found and interesting facts about them. This Inuit-inspired whale and baby whale hanging from the ceiling was my favorite.
V's upper GI went well. He is such a little trooper. He was completely strapped down when they actually did the procedure. At first they let his hands be free and he was okay, then they pulled his hands above his head and strapped those down too, and even then he was okay. The X-ray machine moved down over him and at first he was okay then too, but when they started rotating him he began to cry and unfortunately the procedure takes about 20 mins so it was a long time. All I could do was hold his little hands up above his head. But as soon as they were done and let him out he quieted down and was all smiles again.
Ironically they were shocked when he started spitting up the barium, um hello we were there because of his reflux! So we had to try and feed him more of the gunk. Round two was not as successful as you can see below, he was no fool he knew it was gross and just kept pushing it out of his mouth. Fortunately round two of x-rays was easier and me and grandma were allowed to just hold him instead of him being strapped down. We will get the final report of his test sometime next week but as far as I know nothing serious was discovered.
On to some more fun news of course it was V's first Halloween! As he has a little virus and we have been battling with not just the usual spit up but a snotty nose as well we decided to just hit a few neighbor's houses and call it a night quickly. He thought his costume was funny while we were at home, he was a little catepillar, but was entirely unimpressed with the whole process of Trick-or-Treating. I however loved answering the door and seeing all the cute outfits. A kid dressed as a picnic table was the most creative, a little girl dressed as a honey pot was the cutest, and a parent dressed as a Jedi with Yoda on his back was the coolest.
