I just had to share our day. It was great. Sunshine, decently warm weather. The boys went on a bike ride this morning, with V going down a dirt path for his first time. J was very proud of course, as he is grooming him for future mountain biking adventures. Then we headed up to my favorite pizza place which finally has a Saturday buffet! YUM! This may not sound like such a huge deal, but as it's 40 mins away we don't get to go very often and never for the buffet. So it definitely filled a craving. My parents scored us a new baby swing for only $20 at a garage sale plus a set of Snoopy golf clubs for V for only $5!!! Nice. Following an entertaining trip through the car wash which always amuses V, he and I took a nap. While we slumbered happily J was also happy in the sunshine catching a round a golf at twilight prices, that started at 1pm!!! Can you believe it, usually twilight rates don't start until 4pm or so. V and I had fun playing in the backyard after nap. Blowing bubbles, bouncing balls and even having a picnic dinner outside. So as you can see a beautifully ordinary and fun day.
Now the sad casualty of the day or casualties actually. When J got home he proceeded to cut the in dire need of it grass. Unfortunately this was the demise of over half of my beloved tulips. We have an electric mower, good for the environment, however the cord being dragged across the lawn was bad for my tulips and beheaded over half of them. Sad.
Thankfully the sadness didn't last forever. As V and I were sitting on the couch in the evening he noticed some baby pictures on a blog I was looking at. He was so excited and started talking about our baby. I asked if he was going to hug it, read it books, sing to it. At that, he started singing his favorite song, "lilin qeen" as he calls it, better know as "Life is a Highway." His version usually goes something like this "life is a highway, life is a highway, life is a highway. all night long." only this time he sang it to my belly!!! so absolutely cute, loved it!!! We also then practiced singing "You are my Sunshine", which goes something like this according to V; "you are my sunshine, you are my sunshine, you are my sunshine, i love you." Yep, an absolutely wonderful and beautiful day.
