ZOOLIGHTS

We have been sticking pretty close to home this week as the little guy has been battling another cold since last weekend. But before he came down with the sniffles he was so handsome at church in his new tie. He has no qualms about sharing his germs either. He loves to drool all over you while giving you kisses and little love bites with his two teeth. They may be small but sometimes those two little teeth can really hurt, especially if he catches a bit of skin or your collarbone! Luckily Grandpa didn't mind the drool and escaped unscathed.

By the end of the week he was feeling a bit better. Friday my parents and us went up to dinner at some old friend's that used to live in Ohio with us. It was great seeing them, as we haven't seen them for a few years. The food was so yummy of course as Massoud is a great cook, homemade pomegranate dressing even! And Angie was a doll and made me pumpkin cookies b/c that is one of my memories of her, eating my first pumpkin cookie she had baked. They are still a favorite. Their youngest son was there too, I used to babysit him when he wasn't much older than V. Now he is taller than me, in college and getting ready to serve his mission next year! Ouch, that makes me feel old.
Tonight we went to a local favorite during the Christmas season, Zoolights. This is the 20th anniversary for the lights, and it takes over 27 miles of lights to make all the displays. It is chilly though so we had to bundle up; don't we look so cute as a beanie wearing family.
Although V was obviously the warmest of us all in his fleece stroller bag. Sometimes babies have it so good, haha.
It was a lot of fun to see all the displays. They had both regional displays and also animal themed displays, although most the real animals were boarded indoors b/c of the cold. Some penguins were the only ones braving the cold that we saw.

This picture is looking down on the main open plaza to walk through. That is Mt. Rainier in the back and then, I know it's hard to tell, but just in front of it was a replica of the Narrows Bridges including headlights and taillights.

This is the Flame Tree, it's so big and bright in real life. It was one of all of our favorites.
Although taking pictures of it was tricky and the tree seemed to live up to it's name as it looks like my parent's heads are on fire, yikes!
We also had lots of fun on the indoor carousel. V really enjoyed his first ride. He giggled and smiled. Although I think we got a bigger kick out of watching him then he did of going around.

He also liked sitting in the spinning cup with Grams and Grandpa.
All in all we have been enjoying V's first Christmas season. I can't wait to go to church and sing all the Christmas hymns tomorrow and I am looking forward to the family get togethers we have planned also. We hope everyone has a very Happy Christmas and gets to spend time with their loved ones as well.
