'TIS THE SEASON

Well the holiday season has begun. There have been trips to the doctor for flu shots which is where V had a ton of fun with this toy. He entertained the entire waiting room with his shrieks of delight. The season was welcomed with Christmas music and even the first snow fall today! We also attended the Festival of Trees. I am sure most towns have these, where business's sponsor and decorate trees and gift packages and then auction them off. We don't have the money for the auction portion as it's rumored one tree went for $60,000!!! We are assuming it was the one that included the Lexus Hybrid. But we enjoyed seeing the different themed trees and it's really good to see so much money raised for charity and the Children's Hospital, which we appreciate as that's where we took V for his test a few weeks ago. There were a few sponsors walking around such as Geoffrey from Toys R Us, and being that one of V's favorite toys is a small giraffe you can imagine how he loved Geoffrey!

This is the tree we think V would have liked the best if he chose. It was a kids tree and had tons of toys and such, the cutest being the little golf set in the front.
I would have to say my favorite was the shopping tree; nothing but gift certificates under it, awesome! There was also a Seattle Sports tree that was all Seahawks and Mariners and game packages too, that was cool. I thought the blue butterfly tree was pretty.
And the Tacoma Rainiers tree was clever, and I absolutely loved the baseball chair. One day hopefully that will be under my tree, haha.
We ran into my cousin there, she is all grown up and so beautiful.
Our friends Marijke and Matt are the ones that got us tickets. She used to work with my dad.
The festival also brought a first of the season for V, he got to sit on Santa's lap. We weren't sure what he would think about him, but he just stared and stared. He wouldn't even look forward for pictures! I guess that's better than crying.
All in all it was a good first outing to ring in the holiday season.
And just as a cute endnote, V has really been growing lately. He even has the first tooth just poking out above his gums. Unfortunately it's too small for any pictures yet but he has really been working on his sitting and is getting so proficient. Yesterday he sat for about 10 minutes without tipping, that is a record for him. Below is a video, don't worry it's not the whole 10 minutes, haha, I wouldn't make you watch that. But we are so excited for him to be sitting as that opens a whole world of high chairs and shopping carts, yeah! That will make some outings much easier.

How fun! Utah has a festival of Trees too and I can't wait to get back there to take Conner to it. Van is the smileyest little thing. Him and Nathan! Take care.
