EGG HUNT

The Apple Farm was having an egg hunt the day before Easter so we thought we would go enjoy the little gathering and have some fun. Um, little it was not. Usually the parking lot only holds about 20 cars so we figured it could not be that big of a gathering, yes well when you turn the pumpkin fields into parking lots it can be a large gathering! E enjoyed her first egg hunt, or at least the aftermath. She was fascinated by the empty eggs.

My friend Jennifer and her youngest three kids came to have fun with us too. She has a baby girl just a few weeks older than E.

Her youngest son is almost 2 years older than V but they have so much fun playing together.

A firetruck came for the day. I was suprised by how much they let the kids climb all over it! V of course was in heaven, he loves firetrucks.

The crowd was HUGE! They had the hunts divided up by age in different fields. But all the kids were in different breakouts so Jennifer stayed with her daughter in the 7-10 group and we snuck V in with Spencer in the 5-6 field.
V was ready to go and spotting out which eggs he wanted.

It wasn't so much a hunt as a free for all. The eggs were everywhere just laying on the ground. Thousands and thousands, one worker told us he had been there since 5am putting them out. I can't image how many weeks it took to fill them all.

It's a free event so one cool thing thing they do to cut costs is recycle the eggs, after you empty your candy you place the eggs back in boxes, very smart.
Waiting for our turn on the barrel train. It was E's first amusement ride! Grandma took real good care of her and said she squealed and loved it.

V also had a first ride, his first pony ride. He was a bit nervous at first and wanted J to walk by him but quickly relaxed and looked like a natural. He loved being like a cowboy.

It really was such a cute fun event. We already have plans to go again; and get there earlier to get more doughnuts!!! We bought the last half dozen homemade doughnuts, but at least we got some. They had bbq, and a bluegrass band, little games etc. If anyone doesn't have plans next Easter you can head our way and go to the apple farm with us!
