SOGGY FUN

It was that time of year again, Fair time! Last year, J didn't get to go to the fair, just me, V and mom. But this year J and I got to go spend a fun albeit soggy afternoon at the fair. We started off admiring all the horses, wishing desperately that we could take a ride but alas there are no horse or pony rides at this fair. However, we did watch the Draft Horse show, the little Shetlands were my favorite. Their spunk and energy were vaguely familair to another little creature living in our midst.

Next we admired some of the agricultural displays. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures of the awesome vegetable displays because I was so excited to find out I could vote for my favorite and that took all my concentration.

This year fulfilled some dreams for me as well. One that I have done before but love to every chance I get and another I have always wanted to do. First up, the cows. Cows? you say, yup. I love them. I think they are so adorable and would love to have one as a pet someday. And yes Noelle, that is a real cow, not stuffed. In fact Fritzi, was only one of two cows I got to pet that day. Good times!

Before I move on to dream #2, I should share some of J's favorite animals of the day. He was excited to get the closest he ever has to a Zebra but then thought it was even cooler when he found out they had a Ze-donk. For those of you not in the know, that's a Zebra crossed with one of J's other fave's a donkey! Aren't they so cute nuzzling each other.

As I mentioned before it was quite the soggy day, which may keep others looking at the exhibits indoors but not us. Afterall there were rides to enjoy. Dizzy, spinning, flip you upside down goodness.

It was peticularly entertaining to stand in line under the Enterprise, below, and get extra wet as it pelted us even more. Totally worth it though.

And finally the dream #2 of the day fulfilled. BINGO time! That's right, you heard me now stop the snickering. You know you to have always wanted to play. How could you not? Sitting around a tent, waiting for your numbers to be called so that you too could yell that special word, BINGOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Only, unfortunately I lost all the games I played, sad. But it was still fun because while we played we ate the largest mountain of supreme nachos, the kind you can only get at the fair, you have ever seen.

All in all we had a good time. Fun rides, delicious food, cute animals what's not to love. We are already planning for next year when V will be big enough to ride the kiddie rides. Not to mention we found out about $1 ride nights, whoohoo! We'll be ready.

FUN! I too love cows. I use to have a collection: stuffed animals, figurines, slippers...etc. Name it. That Z-donk is pretty cute too.
I love how you didn't let the weather ruin your fun. Let that be a lesson to all of us. Rain or shine, make the best of it!

I'm so glad you got to fulfill your dreams!! It looks like you guys had tons of fun. Is it really necessary to mix a Zebra and a donkey though. Was somebody just bored?

You guys always look like you are having so much fun. We plan on coming to the west side when Ben is a little older. We will definitely have to visit you.
