WATCH OUT FOR THE VAMPIRES...

Last weekend J's friend Rick came to visit and go backpacking. They went out to the coast through Cullen and Quinault territory for you fellow "Eclipse" lovers. Fortunately the closest they came to vampires or werewolves was eating a Bella burger at a little cafe in Forks. They hiked from La Push down to the Hoh Indian Reservation on the coast. This was no typical hike though. They had to pay attention to tide tables so they wouldn't get stranded. The coast was both secluded easy beach walking and large boulders to climb over.

The scenerary throughtout the whole trip was amazing though.

Sometimes quarters were tight as the only place to put a tent was half way up a cliffside!

Oh and the ladders, about 10 of them going up and down as the trail alternated between shore and cliffside.
Sometimes though there wasn't even a ladder, just a loose sand cliff and a rope. Imagine climbing up that with a 60 pound pack! (and J wonders why I am not jumping at a chance to go, right!?!?)
But the guys had a blast and came home all in one piece albeit stinky and dirty.

They were cute enough to remember us while they were gone.
