MEMORIAL DAY

We had a wonderful Memorial Day. We started by attending a Memorial Day service at church. It was great. They had a Color Guard, a slide show of all the members from our ward retired and currently serving, and a woman who should be singing the National Anthem at the capitol; she was amazing. My favorite was a small singing group sang all the service branch songs and people went to the front when their song was sung, by the time they were done at least a third of the people there were standing at the front. Very cool.
After we drove out to Lena Lake for a hike although the weather was not cooperating. We managed to stay pretty dry under the trees but we didn't finish the hike. Unfortunately the hike was longer, steeper and more difficult than we thought and my asthma kicked in too much for us to continue. But V still enjoyed the ride.
After a long and deserved afternoon nap for V and mama, we went out to dinner. While we were waiting for our food to be served V showed off his conducting skills with a straw. Grandma obliged him by being his orchestra, "ba, ba, ba, BUM..." If you look closely you can see his four teeth on the bottom and his two on top, plus two more coming in!

That was our day. I hope you all had a great holiday weekend as well and were able to pay your respect to those who have and are serving.
