I have been admittedly horrible at keeping our blog updated as of late. So here is the rundown of our October and I will do better for November...hopefully.
V loves "my new house" as he continues to call it. He has been a huge help in the yard, I don't know how J would have moved the tree if it wasn't for his little assistant.

J's dad and stepmom were able to stop by for a quick visit. It was so great to see them. Last time they saw V he was only 5 months old so it was a lot of fun to see him be able to play and interact with them.

I got to spend some much enjoyed girl time at the ocean with mom and Dorothy scrapbooking for an entire weekend! Lots of fun, not a lot of sleep! Can't wait for next year. As a side note, I don't have pictures but the boys had "fun" while we were gone too, they laid the sod so now we have a fully grassed backyard, woohoo!

Of course we had to make our traditional visit to the pumpkin patch. We tried a new patch this year. V loved that we rode a tractor to the patch, however we were rained out before we were able to enjoy any of the other cool attractions like a pony or atv ride.

Now imagine if you will a pumpkin patch in the country, orange pumpkins, black crows, dark clouds rolling in quickly, suddenly a flash of lightning followed by a roll of thunder and then downpour of rain. You would think it was a movie, but no that really happened. Eerie. It was cute though as it was V's first time hearing thunder and he covered his ears looked up and said "oh clouds loud mommy."

When you have a yard you start shopping at fun new places like the Nursery. And then you find out that you can get trees for 75% off after season!!! Awesome, we were excited to find a beautiful double bloom lilac and V was excited to find puddles to run through in the parking lot while mama surprisingly didn't mind if he got soaked. To be honest he was already soaked from getting rained on while looking at the trees so what harm could some more water do.

As you saw in our earlier post V LOVES LOVES LOVES to ride his bike. Well this had resulted in me loading and unloading his bike into my car multiple times a week to take to the grandparents house while I was at work. Thankfully my dad took pity on me and found V another bike on craigslist (honestly, I love that site. What can't you find.) And to top off the fun V got to go to the firehouse to get a new helmet! Nothing cooler than a fireman giving you a new bike helmet, and stickers to boot.

Of course we had to spend sometime rolling around in the leaves. It's amazing how quickly a little boy gets you over not liking to get dirty. My Grandma Rosie used to always say "a little dirt never hurt anyone." Ever since V got mobile, that phrase runs through my head many times a day, haha. Boys=dirt.

For work I attended a Prevention Summit on the east side. We took nine kids with us and it was so fun to work with youth again.

We made it home just in time for trunk-or-treating at the church. It took a promise of candy to get him to keep his frog costume on for longer than a minute but once he had the candy he couldn't have cared less what he was wearing!

A little refreshment on the way home before he headed out around the neighborhood with some friends.

So that was our October, thanks for bearing with me and continuing to check the blog!
