WICKED UPDATE

I have been slacking in my updates again! But if you remember a few months ago J surprised me with tickets to see "Wicked" for my birthday, well the weekend finally arrived. My parents were nice enough to tend the little guy for the night so J and I headed to Portland for some fun. The show was ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! I was blown away; it is definitely in my top 3 favorite musicals now. J even admitted that it was pretty good with "only a few slow parts" (those all being when they talked/sang about love just for the record haha). I would absolutely go see it again and again, and if you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend you do. And if any of you ladies can't talk your husband into going, let me know I will be your date!
As we were driving to the theatre we noticed this place that we recogonized from one of our favorite shows "Amazing Race." Last season they had to go to Voodoo Doughnut to pick up a clue so of course we had to go and pick up a few doughnuts for breakfast. The place is a bit odd, but the doughnuts were amazingly rich and delicious. J's was even shaped like a little voodoo doll, creepy!
We wandered around the flea market while we ate our yummy breakfast. It was quite impressive but I was saving my shopping money for one place in particular. One I have only heard of but couldn't have even imagined: Powell's Books. Holy cow, this place takes up an entire city block and is at least 2 stories. It is packed with new and used books and is just about the happiest place on earth, which is saying a lot for those of you that know how much I love Disneyland. We ended up getting 12 books total; 3 were Harry Potter series, 4 for me to read, and 5 for V. And what would you think this haul cost.....only $46! And I rounded up! I don't think we will ever be able to visit Portland again with out spending some time there.

We had a lot of fun just walking around the city and seeing some places and getting some ideas for things to do on future visits. We really liked this statue that is in the middle of the city, on the edge of Chinatown. If I remember correctly it is suppossed to be a blessing of happiness and abundace. We definitely found both on our little getaway.
