HOT HOT HIKE

A few weeks ago we decided to get out and get some fresh air. Not to mention put the Kelty to some good use. Well it was warm to begin with and we had to make the tough call of shade but no breeze, or sun but coolish breeze. We opted for shade. Therefore, we hiked through the fern filled forest. Enjoying the shade, wishing for a breeze but being happy we weren't getting burnt.

And we kept our eye on the prize as they say or at least the thought of cooling off a bit once we hit the beach. Ahh, aren't they cute? However our cool water beach plans were dashed when we saw this sign!!!

What do you mean the cool refreshing beach we just hiked through the muggy forest to get to is POLLUTED? We shouldn't swim or play or frollick!!! And if we do we should shower immediately?!?! Obviously they didn't think people with toddlers who touch everything and then lick their own hands come here.

So after we faced the fact that we would have to make the hike back to the car with out a refreshing interlude we trudged away, vowing to find a beach that wasn't polluted for our next hike. So for all of you out there, please be careful not to add to the pollution. Like Jack says "the 3 r's is what I am talking about today; Reduce, Reuse, Recycle"

At least in my muggy slump on the way back, I had this cute view to lift my spirits...
