FIRST DAY OF CLASS

So here we are at 29 weeks of pregnancy and we have started our birth class. I really can't say anything bad about it, it really was informative and the nurse who teaches it is nice. She even brought snacks; that's smart if you are teaching a room full of pregnanct ladies, we tend to get hungry often. I have to say though I spent most the night looking at J going "yeah right!" due to the pictures, diagrams etc. And it's not just me, all of us moms-to-be kept sharing wide-eyed-you-have-got-to-be-kidding-me looks. I know women have been doing this for thousands of years and it's nature but still you have to be joking that our little guy is going to make his exit that way!!! Yikes!!! J even turned to me at one point and said "I'm sorry babe, you can yell at me as much as you want I will just sit and take it." So you know I wasn't overreacting if even J thought it sounded a bit crazy. The nice thing is the class is really small, only five couples and we are all due very close together so we are all about the same stage and have the same questions and such so it will be more specific for us rather than generalized for a larger group. And we have six more weeks of class so hopefully we will feel more comfortable and prepared by the end. On that note, below I added some questions for your enjoyment that though not heard in birth class I can imagine being asked:

Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right?
A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current.

Q: When is the best time to get an epidural?
A: Right after you find out you're pregnant.

Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor?
A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you.

Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth?
A: Yes, pregnancy.
