JAWS

The weather here is getting to be typically northwestern (read grey skies and drizzle), so last week when we had a bright sunny day that happened to coincide with no school thanks to teacher conferences we hopped in the car and headed to the zoo. V liked showing off his teeth with the shark jaw model.

I spotted a ladybug on my mom's shoulder and V wanted to carry him around to see the other animals. He was so proud to be holding it, and wanted to show his baby sister (read shove in her face, haha!)

Alas, the tour came to an end when we went into the aquirium building, so Grandpa helped V make sure the ladybug was comfortable on a tree.

E got a bit fussy being in the stroller so long, but Grandpa was happy to be her taxi up the hill.
Grandma and V at the top of the zoo hill in front of the beautiful view of the mountain.
It's funny, V will ride whatever ride we let him at a festival. He loves rollercoasters, slides, tilt-a-whirl etc. But on a carousel he just wants to ride in the sleigh, odd! (Pardon my bizarre smile, if you knew how many times we had had to smile for a picture while going around and around, it was bound to make anyone crack.)

But the fun wasn't over yet. Our zoo has free roaming peacocks and though I am pretty sure we were breaking some rules, V and Grandma had some fun feeding one some grapes in the parking lot on our way out.

Toys R Us was having a super deal only $1 for Candyland and/or Chutes and Ladders! Well I love me a deal, so of course we packed into the car and headed to our local store. We have had the games now for 3 days and we have played them everyday, SEVERAL times a day. V especially likes Candyland. Chutes and Ladders is a bit more difficult as the path is harder to follow. It's fun to have board games to play with him now as J and I love playing games too. I am already looking forward to more advanced games we can play in coming years. J has dibs on Sorry but I am holding out for Scrabble, whoohoo!

And an exclusive you can only see here ...another Rockstar sighting. My headband and sunglasses apparently helped complete the look. It really is so much better in person, you get the guitar playing, the dancing and the singing. It's good times.

Nice that your sunny day coincided with no school! I love the peacocks. I have good memories of peacocks living near where we kept our horses and gathering their feathers.

Looks like you guys are having some fun. I love it when they get old enough to play games. Your little girl is so little and adorable.
