Two posts in a month, you have my permission to be shocked! I did say I would try and do better this year. So despite the fact there isn't much new to share I will proceed.
A certain person had a certain birthday for which numbers will remain nameless. However, there was cake! Good cake, yummy rich chocolate cake. V really enjoyed it too, so much that he seemed to get it everywhere. If you could have seen all his clothes and the chair you would have thought the kid had rolled around in some mud.
Fortunately, some friends came by to ease the harshness of age, or mostly, there were a few low blows here and there but overall they were supportive.
As Dorothy's birthday is only two days later, we had a joint birthday dinner at a local Italian spot.

Even though he wears me out, and just about everybody else too. I have to say I am really enjoying this age for V. I am definitely a "toddler" mom. Don't get me wrong I have loved V since they day we found out we were having him, but his infant period was hard. And it's just so fun to be able to have conversations, walk hand in hand with him, and see his personality grow and change. He is very opinionated but he is also so sweet. He is energetic to say the least and would jump at the chance to go on a bike ride rain or shine. He is a beautiful, loving and smart boy. He adores his grandparents. Last night as I was putting him to bed and discussing what we were going to do today, he said he didn't want to go to the library but instead wanted to call and ask grandma and grandpa if they would come to the children's museum with us. I figured he would forget by morning but nope, within five minutes of crawling into bed to wake me he asked if he could call grandma. Thankfully his grandparents adore him too so they of course agreed to go with us if we waited until they returned from the gym. And what fun they had...
V practiced his doctoring skills. He needs a little reminder of where shots go (in the arm or leg, not the sternum!) and the thermometer (under the arm, not in the bellybutton, haha!).

every day I feel crazy busy and painfully boring. haha! Your pictures are precious! I missed your bday (even though it was in my calendar-- that whole 'busy' with boring thing, sorry!). I wish i were there to share the cake!
xoxo
You are not boring, but I know what you mean. Everyday life is crazy, but somehow doesn't always seem "blog worthy." Love the pix, and it definitely is fun when kids can interact so much more!
Oh, and happy birthday!! :o)
What cool grandparents V has!
I feel like I struggle just to make meals and do laundry, let alone do fun and cool things.
