Ok, here is my best attempt at playing catch up. There are many many things I will miss but here are a few highlights...
"Auntie" Noe came to visit. V charmed her off her feet of course, although she made me play paparazzi for a photo! Even V started to get annoyed with my many futile attempts. However, she finally agreed to a photo, only took 3 days!
Trains have become a central figure in our life as late. Like most boys V loves all things that go: trucks, planes, helicopters etc. However trains seem to holding tight at #1. We took him to his first train show where despite the pictures appearence J was holding him back not pushing him forward. He was so excited to see all the trains and spent quite a bit of timing watching this one go around and "showing" it the way over the bridge.
Luckily there is a Santa Train nearby and we were able to take V for his first train ride. They were even nice enough to let him sit in the engineer's seat.
And if you can't tell he loved it, as evident by the stomping (a la "Happy and You Know It" verse two) when we asked if he was happy and having fun, haha!
Despite the crazy weather we experience just prior to Christmas, J's mom, stepdad, younger sister and her 11 month old son made it through the snow and highway closures to visit us for Christmas.
V really enjoyed having a playmate and the boys, 7 months different in age, had a lot of fun together.
And I guess it shouldn't be much of a surprise what V got for Christmas; a train table.
How's this picture for typifying the life of a mom, doing double duty with the regular camera and video recorder?
We did attempt to show the them the sights. We took a ferry to Seattle but unfortunately the weather wasn't exactly cooperating so it was a soggy, cold day in the city.
The best view of the Space Needle was the poster slideshow at the bottom...maybe next time.
Can't wrap up the holidays without a picture of our new pajamas, ta da! What's even more amazing is that all three of us are smiling!
The New Year was spent playing a "new" game, at least to us, with our friends the Samperts. They introduced us to Settlers of Catan which has quickly become a favorite.

And as a bonus our friends the Wickams have the extension pack so once babysitters and bedtimes for those 3' and under is settled the good times begin.
Once the snow became more managable we were able to reschedule the family Christmas dinner. My Uncle Bob hosted it as his house this year which was a huge hit with V due to the goats.
The rest of us enjoyed battling each other on Guitar hero. Turns out that just as I am a goofy foot at snowboarding, I am a lefty flip at guitar who knew! I am wondering if that would hold up in real life as I have a guitar but haven't ever managed to learn to play, maybe it's time to flip it over and give it another go.

Dominic and V would have so much fun together. Dom is obsessed with trains too. That is all he plays with all day long. The train show looked like so much fun along with the Santa train ride. I sure V had a blast.
